Premier Daniel Andrews announced those who have passed away include one woman in her 50s, one man in his 70s, six women and four men in their 80s, and four women and three men in their 90s.

Fourteen of the 19 deaths are linked to aged care outbreaks. It brings the state's death toll 246 and Australia's death toll to 331.

The sad update comes as 331 new cases were recorded in the past 24 hours.

Though there has been a slight increase in active cases, there is hope the state's numbers are stabilising after a month of escalation.

Yesterday, there were 322 new cases reported - the lowest number of cases there had been in a week.

There are now 7880 active cases in Victoria. 'Just under 520' active cases are linked to regional Victoria.

2903 of those are 'mystery cases' - where the cause of infection is not known.

1838 active cases are linked to aged care settings and 1185 are healthcare workers.

650 Victorians are in hospital due to COVID-19, with 47 of those receiving intensive care and 24 people are on a ventilator.

IN OTHER NEWS:

One active case remains in both Ararat and Northern Grampians.

Two more Horsham residents officially recovered from COVID-19 yesterday. Three active cases remain in Horsham.

There have been no other changes in the Wimmera and surrounds.

Two active cases remain in the West Wimmera shire.

There are no active cases reported in the Hindmarsh or Yarriambiack shires.

Updated figures are expected from the DHHS this afternoon.
