THE Australian Sports Foundation has launched a national campaign to determine the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on community sports clubs.

Following a pilot survey by the funding body in April, responses showed that there are significant problems that may lead to many community clubs falling by the wayside in the wake of the virus.
The campaign will be based on a mass survey of community clubs to help determine additional funding needs and the best way the Australian Sports Foundation can assist clubs in staying open.
As Australia's national sports charity, the ASF is uniquely able to channel philanthropic funding to community clubs, which it says is a key objective of its campaign.

"Sport has the power to bring communities together, to break down social barriers and to improve the health and mental wellbeing of everyone," CEO of the Australian Sports Foundation Patrick Walker said.
"It will play a vital role as our communities recover from this crisis, and we want to make sure that our community sports clubs are able to survive and help that process."
Clubs eager to participate in the campaign and ensure their voices are heard, or wanting to find out more information, are encouraged to go to covid.sportsfoundation.org.au.
The survey is open from Wednesday May 20 until Wednesday June 3.
