The netball court development and Olver Grandstand upgrade at Ararat's Alexandra Oval precinct are still underway despite COVID-19 restrictions.
Ararat Rural City Council chief executive Tim Harrison said construction workers are following social distancing measures while working on the two projects.
Bricks were laid at the netball court last week.
"The concreter is also working on footpaths around the site and we are anticipating they will finish that work by end of this week," Dr Harrison said.
In other news:
"The SHS Civil team is also continuing stormwater drainage, shelter works, electrical works and other general construction work around the site.
"It's great to see a local contractor continuing to work during these difficult times, and we thank SHS Civil for their efforts.
"The company who will be completing the acrylic surface for the netball courts hopes to arrive this week, all going well but that will depend on whether COVID-19 restrictions are changed in the meantime."
Work on the Ararat Active Link Stage 2 - Ararat Skate Park project will begin once SHS Civil complete the netball courts, also dependent on whether COVID-19 restrictions change.
"A project manager has also been appointed to start work on the Olver Stand redevelopment, with demolition work starting tomorrow," Dr Harrison said.
The works are part of the Alexandra Active Corridor Project, with funding worth $750,000 obtained through the State Government's Female Friendly Facilities Fund, $500,000 from Regional Development Victoria, and $231,000 from the Department of Justice.
The council is also contributing $781,000 towards the project.
