Mrs McKinnon said she wanted to brighten up the community and express her gratitude for those doing it tough on our roads by posting signs in her window she made out of vinyl in her crafts room.
"I thought I would start with the truckers because they are still out there working and saving lives," she said.
"They are on the road for as long as their hours permit them and they do long hauls and have to find showers and get food, which they are struggling to get (as businesses close)."
Mrs McKinnon's own father was a truck driver, as well as some of her uncles.
She moved to Great Western two and a half years ago and now she watches truckers drive by her home on the Western Highway.
She said she has watched the traffic drop as the coronavirus crisis worsened until it seemed like only trucks were going past.
Mrs McKinnon said she was inspired to make the signs after people on a Facebook page in the United States started doing similar things in a bid to promote kindness.
"I generally do markets but that's all shut down and I had my craft room all shut up, so I thought I'd do something with the community," she said.
"I really love everything around here so I'm forever ... trying to brighten up the community.
In other news:
"I am putting a few more in the window that say stay safe, stay home because so many people are still not listening to the advice and are still going out. I'll also (draw on) themes of hope and love."
She said she hoped the idea would catch on locally and that she was happy to assist anyone interested and can be contacted via her Facebook page CJ's Artworks.
"I'd love some more people to be able to do it here but it's hard because what I've made is out of vinyl with a machine, so that's why it was easier for me," she said.
"If anyone wants them I can make them up. I think it would be nice if everyone put something up, even if it's just something with hearts, because we're all in the same position. We're all in this together.
"If I can put a smile on one person's face I'm happy."
