We know times are tough, but before you make your next purchase, consider whether you could buy locally instead. If you're unsure where to start, here are four ways that you can support local businesses.
1. SHOP LOCAL, ONLINE
Many of us are fortunate enough to have access to the internet and online shopping platforms. Several small businesses have adapted to offer online shopping, making it easier than ever to show your support for our region from your own home.
Are you preparing items for an Easter hamper or searching for the perfect Mother's Day gift? Maybe you're stocking up on pantry goods, or looking to send a care package to a loved one in isolation? The Grampians community continue to provide us with fresh local produce which is perfect as a gift or purchasing for you and your family. Not to mention, there are dozens of exceptional wineries scattered across the region who are offering delivery services.
2. PURCHASE A GIFT VOUCHER
Looking to send a birthday or thank you gift to a friend? Or, maybe you're looking to give yourself a little treat! Show people you are thinking about them by purchasing an experience voucher for them online. A gift card to one of our local businesses is an easy and convenient gift to purchase and perfect for later use.
3. STAY CONNECTED
Showing your support doesn't always mean spending money! By following local businesses on social media, signing up to their e-newsletters or simply sharing one of their posts you will be showing support during this difficult time. Take your support one step further by writing an online review for your favourite local business or making recommendations to family and friends.
4. HOLIDAY HERE THIS YEAR
When the time is right to travel, we urge you to consider holidaying here this year. Many regional communities, like ours, rely on the visitor economy to thrive. That's why we're asking you to consider inviting your family and friends to the Grampians and explore what's right on your doorstep.
