A 79-year-old woman has died in hospital following a single-car crash in Stawell on 15 March.
Police believe the woman was travelling along Stawell-Avoca Road about 3.30pm when her vehicle left the road.
They said she tried to correct the vehicle but lost control again, with the car hitting a wire fence and then a tree.
The woman was the sole occupant of the car, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition.
She died in hospital on March 23. Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
EARLIER, March 15:
PARAMEDICS say a woman appears to be in a serious condition, after a car hit a tree on Stawell-Avoca Road on Sunday afternoon.
An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said they were called to the scene around 3.36pm, and the woman remained trapped.
"The early report says she appears to have head and back injuries," she said.
"An air ambulance is about to land."
