Officers were highly visible across the state as part of Operation Arid, a four-day focus on reducing the severity of road trauma.
While the operation targeted key offences on the road - including speed, fatigue and seatbelt offences - police had a particular focus on drink and drug driving, particularly around Moyston and Donald.
Moyston hosted Pitch Music Festival and Donald hosted the Esoteric Festival.
"We're concentrating on the Pitch Festival and the Esoteric Festival over near Donald, and the main roads and back roads in between," Northern Grampians Highway Patrol Sergeant Shaun Allen said on Sunday.
"The members have been busy dong lots of breath and drug tests and we haven't had any positive tests yet.
"We're hoping that (this compliance) continues through to the end of Operation Arid."
Sergeant Allen also said on Sunday that there had not been any major accidents across the region, but speed and mobile phone offences were still being detected.
"We're still seeing (speeding). The message with speed is not getting through," he said.
"We have had one each of mobile phone and seat belt offences."
So far this year, 45 people have been killed on Victoria's roads, with drink and drug driving suspected to be a factor in ten of those incidents.
Last year two people died on the roads across the Labour Day long weekend.
Road Policing Command Assistant Commissioner Linda Murphy said it was baffling people continued to get behind the wheel after drinking or taking drugs.
"The dangers of drink and drug driving are nothing new," AC Murphy said.
"Drink driving shortens your concentration span, significantly affects reaction times and alters your ability to judge distances.
"Knowingly getting into the driver's seat while drunk or drug-affected is entirely selfish and there's no place for it on our roads.
"We are doing more roadside drug tests than ever before, and we'll be out and about breath-testing drivers, so think twice before consciously putting yourself and others at risk."
