Going into the competition with a one shot lead, Dalton had prepared himself to play only his game and to stay on track.
"I played pretty well for the opening 11 holes as i was square with the card after 11," he said.
"Then the nerves kicked in and I started to play some errant shots that resulted in four bogeys in the last seven holes.
"Overall, I was happy with the consistency in which i played over the three rounds."
It was the first time Dalton had ever won a club championship before and the low handicapped golfer said it was a "massive relief to finally win one".
"I truly enjoyed every minute of the final round," he said.
"It certainly helped to enjoy the final round with my playing partners for the day, everyone treated each other with respect.
"Also my playing partners for the first two rounds as well, I really enjoyed the whole experience."
Dalton said he was nervous as he stood up on the first tee, but a birdie on the hole settled the nerves.
"I will admit i started to tighten up in the last five or six holes and the bogeys i made in those last few holes signaled the nerves were back," he said.
Dalton won with a score of 224.

B Grade champion - Blair Hart (9) 244 and C Grade champion Rob Blachford (16) 272.
