Jordan Lee joined the committee last year after being approached by the committee.
"They had floated the idea past me because I work in the agriculture industry (for Nutrien Ag Solutions)," he said.
"In the past I've been involved in field days as an exhibitor through Emmetts and now Nutrien."
He said his favourite part about field days was the social aspect.
"There's a lot of research that is done online by farmers now. Field days have changed over the years and the sale side of things is different," he said.
"The field days give exhibitors the chance to show their new products, and growers get the chance to see what they are buying.
"You also get to catch up with mates that you might only see once a year."
New committee member Jamie Petrass joined last year. This will be his first field days.
"I've been pretty involved with field days through my work (Emmetts), so I thought it was a good thing to volunteer for," he said.
"I also normally go have a look around the site each year. I love seeing all the new machinery that comes out. So far it's been great being on the committee.
"I think they're just keen to keep people coming on board. They had a few people retire from the committee last year, so they obviously want fresh blood.
"It's definitely been worth it. I'd recommend it to other people, for sure."
He said the field days was an important event for Horsham and the Wimmera.
"It brings a lot of people from outside the region and gives people a day off the farm. People also get a chance to see people they haven't seen for a while," he said.
There are about 35 people on the Wimmera Machinery Field Days committee. Members have a working bee at the field days site at Longerenong every Saturday leading up to the event.
The 2020 Wimmera Machinery Field Days will be held on March 5, 6 and 7.
