Horsham
Horsham Rural City Council will host a free barbecue in Sawyer Park from 7am followed by presentations of Australia Day awards and the citizenship ceremony at 8am.
The Australia Day address will be given by Ambassador Dr Bernard Jenner OAM along with a flag raising ceremony, an Australian children's story and other entertainment.
Horsham Council will also hold ceremonies at Brimpaen Hall from 8am, Natimuk Community Centre from 8.30am and Dadswell Bridge Public Hall from 11am.
Yarriambiack
Yarriambiack Shire Council will offer cooked breakfast for a gold coin donation from 8am in Warracknabeal's Anzac Park near the community centre followed by Australia Day award presentations and the citizenship ceremony.
Josh Gunn will be the guest speaker, with entertainment by Sofia Laursen Habel and the Warracknabeal and District Band.
Yarriambiack Council will also hold ceremonies from 8am at Hopetoun's Memorial Hall, Beulah Post Office, Minyip's main street square, Rupanyup Memorial Hall, Murtoa Neighbourhood House, Woomelang Memorial Hall Super rooms, Patchewollock Community Centre and Wallup Hall.
Hindmarsh
Hindmarsh Shire Council's Australia Day Ambassador Neil Soullier OAM and Mayor Cr Rob Gersch will visit ceremonies across the area.
They will start with a breakfast barbecue from 7.30am at the Lion's Den in Rainbow, a barbecue at Jeparit's Menzies Square from 9am, morning tea at Dimboola's Old Shire Hall Forecourt from 10.30am and finish with a lunch barbecue from noon at Nhill's Goldsworthy Park.
West Wimmera
West Wimmera Shire Council will have events from 8am at Edenhope's Henley Park, Kaniva Swimming Pool and Goroke Memorial Hall, Dergholm Soldiers' Memorial Hall from 10am, and Harrow's Johnny Mullagh Reserve from 11.30am.
West Wimmera Shire Council Australia Day Ambassador Professor Debra Bateman will speak in Edenhope and Harrow.
Northern Grampians
Northern Grampians Shire Council Australia Day celebrations will begin in St Arnaud with a free community breakfast hosted by St Arnaud Lions and Rotary Clubs at Market Square at 8am.
At 9am, the Australia Day Awards Presentation commences with Sally Tucker, the Australia Day ambassador, followed by morning tea in the St Arnaud Town Hall hosted by the Queen Mary Gardens Committee.
In the evening Northern Grampians Shire Council will host an event at Cato Park in Stawell.
The Australia Day Awards Presentations commence at 6pm with Ms Tucker, followed by a Citizenship Ceremony.
Once the formalities are over, a free community barbecue and family activities, including a petting zoo, face painting, and jumping castle will be available for all to attend.
Ararat
Ararat Rural City Council will host it's annual Australia Day Ceremony with an awards and citizenship ceremony at Alexandra Oval Community Centre from 9am, when Ararat Rural City's Australia Day Ambassador Duncan Stalker OAM will also speak.
Other Australia Day events include pool parties at Willaura and Lake Bolac with free entry, face painting and barbecue. Pools open from 2pm to 7pm.
Following the morning breakfast is the Ararat Pool and Alexandra Gardens Party which includes free pool entry all day (open 6am-7.30pm), free activities in the gardens including barbecue from 12pm-2pm, live music from The Double Agents 12pm-3pm, jumping castle, face painting and Something Sweet Gelato.
Ararat Rural City's 2020 Australia Day Ambassador Duncan Stalker OAM is an educator, leader and community service contributor who has been recognised with innumerable awards.
