Ararat Rats' new senior coach Matt Walder had his first meet and greet with the club on Sunday.
It was the first time the playing group were able to meet the newly appointed coach in person, with his move to the region not pencilled in until early 2020.
He is currently living in Queensland with his family but they will move to Ararat in January after the Christmas period and Walder get to work on training up the senior side.
He spent the session taking the 2020 team through their paces and delivering some directions about how he will run things in the new year.
Walder signed on to lead the senior team in December, after former senior coach Shane Fisher announced his departure for the club before the 2019 finals campaign
Walder, a former Wimmera league interleague player, said he was excited to return to the region when he first signed to coach at the Ararat Rats.
