FRIDAY has been a busy day for the region's volunteer firefighters, who extinguished a grass fire on the Pyrenees Highway at Dunneworthy.

A Country Fire Authority spokeswoman said four tankers headed to the site at 4.45pm, where the fire had grown to one acre in size.
"It was under control at 5.10pm and crews left the scene at 7pm. There is no apparent reason for the fire starting," she said.
While five crews headed to Jack O'Laughlans Road at Ballyrogan on Friday morning, after a hay shed caught fire.
The spokeswoman said the fire was under control by midday, but the job would likely take until Saturday.
"Crews will remain on scene until tomorrow to keep an eye on things - it's not completely out," she said.
"They had an excavator on the scene digging holes to put that hay in after dragging it out of the shed."
