The Stawell Men's Shed put on a free barbecue for participants and Grampians Community Health community engagement officer Naomi Lovell spoke about the need for further action over the issue.
"Stawell's Walk Against Violence and other events like it are very important because they encourage us to consider the dangers that are faced daily by people experiencing family violence," she said.
"It reminds us that we all lose when we live in a world where people aren't safe in their own homes.
"The rate of women murdered by a current or former partner isn't decreasing."
