The region's lakes are in relatively healthy shape ahead of the busy season, with most lake water levels on par with 2018 figures.
GWM Water's executive manager engagement, culture and assurance Andrew Rose said more remote communities throughout the Wimmera will continue to benefit from the Wimmera Mallee Pipeline, which brought steady water supply to parts of the region.
"Post Wimmera-Mallee Pipeline the situation is still really good from a recreational point of view but also from a general storage point of view," he said.
"We really do recognise the value and importance of recreational water to remoter communities, where it becomes a hub during the summer period for water activities.
"The mental health benefits and economic spin-offs are well researched."
GWM Water data stated that as of November 18, Lake Fyans was 82 per cent full, compared with 79 per cent on the same date last year.
Lake Lonsdale was 34 per cent full, up five percentage points from last year at 29 per cent.
Lake Bellfield was just below 2018 levels at 74 per cent full, compared to a level of 83 per cent the previous year.
Moora Moora Reservoir, situated in the heart of the Grampians, is on a par with 2018 levels of 72 per cent full, sitting at 70 per cent full.
On the other side of the mountain range is Rocklands Reservoir at 32 per cent full, eight percentage points lower than the 2018 figure of 40 per cent full.
Taylors Lake south east of Horsham was at 76 per cent full, compared with 77 per cent full the previous year.
Green Lake, also near Horsham, was 67 per cent full, up one percentage point from the previous year.
Lake Toolondo was doing as well, sitting at 26 per cent full, compared to 39 per cent for the same date last year.
Lake Wartook was 59 per cent full compared to a slightly higher figure in 2018 of 64 per cent.
Mount Cole Reservoir was exactly the same as the previous year at 77 per cent full.
Green Hill Lake Development Board president Gwneda Allgood said the lake is about half full.
There are no current blue green algae warnings for the region's lakes, despite previous alerts being issued for Lake Bolac and Lake Wallace throughout the year.
