The Wimmera's best and brightest footballers were put through their paces at a Greater Western Victoria Rebels' education and testing day on Sunday.
25 of the 140 invitees in the under-18 program were from the region, and 23 of the 140 in the under-16s.
Nine Ararat-based players and three Stawell youngsters were invited.
AFL Wimmera-Mallee regional development manager Jason Muldoon said it was a valuable experience.
"It was split up into two sections, an education in the morning focusing on social media and all the other AFL policies that go with the NAB League," Mr Muldoon said.
"Combined with that, head coach Marc Greig did a video review and talked about some expectations for the group.
"Then in the afternoon the boys did some testing with Rookie Me, who are the accredited testers for the AFL."
The youngsters had their height and weight taken, and were tested on their agility, vertical leap, 20 metre sprint and aerobic capacity, with the yo-yo test.
