GWMWater will cover two two significant projects in the pipeline for the area, to improve water quality and supply.
The township is projected to benefit from an upgrade to a drinking water supply, while surrounding rural areas are being encouraged to express an interest in a rural supply via the East Grampians Rural Pipeline.
GWMWater executive manager infrastructure Nalaka Vitharana said the purpose of the information session was to provide a general overview of each project and the relevant timelines, clarify which properties each water supply could apply to and to speak with individual residents about their individual properties and connection options.
"The last time we visited Moyston to discuss the rural pipeline project, we touched on the drinking water project but at that point in time we were still finalising which properties it would apply to," he said.
"We made a commitment to come back with more information and we thought it would be worth allowing time so that we could discuss individual circumstances with residents and landholders so they understand the options available to them."
Mr Vitharana said GWMWater aimed to supply the most appropriate service that provided the most value to customers.
"We're conscious that many of our Moyston customers own multiple properties, some of which are within the urban area and others in the surrounding area," he said.
"We've done some work to establish which properties will be converted to a drinking water supply at the completion of the drinking water upgrade project as well as those that could potentially opt in. We've distributed information to the community and the information session will provide an opportunity to clarify any other details."
