Stawell Angling Club members landed some nice sized redfin from their club competition at Lake Fyans last weekend. Trolling chatterbaits or lures, is still the best option as well as casting plastics, and fishing with yabby baits will usually get you a good feed.
Paul Whelan again took out top honours with four reddies with a combined length of 152.5cm from Darren Smiths, with three reddies at 110cm. New member Gary Merrett measured two redfin for a length of 82cm for third. Gary also netted the longest fish for the comp with a 46cm redfin.
The next club outing will again be at Fyans from 6am Saturday the 23rd until 11am Sunday, with final measure at 11:15am. New members are welcome to attend.
