There were three areas of competition - patterns, sparring and special techniques - with the students putting in many nights of training and hard work to be ready for the competition.
The students kicked off the day with patterns.
Krys Syrota, was competing in her first tournament and although very nervous impressed the judges and won all her feats.
Lia Hayward, Jack and Justin Sirre also competed in patterns and all got through to the finals.
The next competition was sparring.
Although none of the students got through to the finals they did exceptionally well. Some competitors were twice their size but they kept going and fought the best they could.
Chris Sirre went through to the finals in sparring in the adults competition.
The students all came back with medals and did the club proud with their perserverance and sportsmanship.
Results
Krys Syrota 1st patterns
Lia Hayward 1st patterns
Jack Sirre 1st patterns
Justin Sirre 2nd patterns
Chris Sirre 2nd sparring
Congratulations to all students.
