As predicted the match between Lake Bolac and Stawell Golf was going to be a close one and it did not disappoint.

Ian Park and Greg Reading were level on 22 all, Brian Adamson got home by four shots for Golf but Mal Curnow evened up the ledger with a win for Bolac by the same margin. This resulted in a draw and the teams sharing the points six all.
Ararat have not beaten the Chally team for quiet a few years but at home were going to be a chance.
The new recruit J Huxtable had a great win over the recovering Shane Todd who broke some ribs only a few weeks ago.
Tony Carra also had a great win which evened up the match and with a six shot win by the evergreen Richard Fisher Ararat caused the first upset for the year and got home by one shot.
Stawell were at home to the visiting Aradale and up until lunch there was nothing in the match - Adrian Troeth and Grant Seeary both got home with good wins and Gary Jamieson got some points for Aradale.
In the last match VRI transferred the match to Landsborough and had a great win Clayton Holcombe snuck home by five shots, Griffo got there by 12 and Shane Briggs was in full flight with a 20 shot win.
This has put the VRI team on top of the ladder for now.

Division 2
Stawell Golf gold had a massive win over the visiting Lake Bolac Red combination. Terry Ellis was the biggest winner up by 27 shots, Mikey "My Love" Habben and Ray Scobie both had good wins.
Lake Bolac Black had a close game against Stawell Golf Blue. The Blue side managed to win two rinks but could not cover the big win by Barry Veale who got up by 22 shots.
In a replay of last year's grand final Ararat Gold played Stawell Blue and the Stawell side got some revenge winning all three rinks, with Barry Weary having a big win by 24 shots.
Stawell Gold were at home to the visiting VRI side and with both teams in the finals last year a close match was expected. But the home green was too much for the visitors with Stawell winning all three rinks.
In the last match Aradale just failed to get the points over Ararat Green by just four shots. All three rinks were close with only a hand full of shots separating them.
