Wine boost
Have you seen the new billboards promoting The Grampians Wine Region on the exit and entry to Ararat?
They have been put up by Ararat Rural City Council to further support the messaging and call to action of Grampians Tourism's destination marketing campaign "The Grampians Way" as well as encourage dispersal to regional producers.
Our local wine region has seen a steady flow of investment from the $1 million wine growth fund, administered by Regional Development Australia.
The wine growth fund aims to develop and grow the wine industry in Victoria, and to support the industry to be viable and sustainable.
Several key Grampians wineries and growers have benefited from the scheme including AT Richardson Wines, Best's Wines, Mt Langi Ghiran, Montara, Pomonal Estate and Mountainside Wines.
With fierce competition in the Victorian wine industry, these grants have assisted local producers to increase their production, improve cellar doors, provide a wider range of services and to host a larger number of events for both locals and visitors to the region.
