Ararat VRI Bowls Club is preparing for a new green to be placed at the venue in October.
The current green suffered significant damage during the heavy downpour in early February which left many businesses and venues in Ararat scrambling to contain the water. Club president Murray Jensen said the old green would be pulled up "very soon".
"Work has started to get underway in preparation for the new green," he said.
"It is a big job. We're fortunate the way it's worked out and because of the damage, we've had some insurance support. It's paved the way for the new green and we're very happy."
The bowling season for Grampians Bowls Division Saturday pennant is scheduled to start on October 12 while mid-week pennant begins on October 7.
"At this stage, we might have to look at swapping with our opponents for the home games," Mr Jensen said.
"It could give us a bit of leeway. We will be working on new surrounds to go with the new greens. We also received some support through an Ararat Wind Farm grant and will be looking into new uniforms for our players.
"It will be a bit of a new look VRI which will be good."
Ararat VRI has entered in a division one and two side and also two teams for the mid-week pennant 2019-20 season.
