On a day which everyone plays for, the Roos were out to play.
Dimboola was undefeated minor premiers this season, but Ararat upset the Roos by three goals in a semi-final.
Dimboola coaches Sharon Campbell and Kellie Laverty were ecstatic with the win.
"It's really surreal," they said.
"We didn't breath easy until late in the fourth quarter when we new it would take something really special for Ararat to come back from where they were.
"At half time when it was even, it was pretty nerve-wracking. Our third quarter is always our best so we thought we might get that one against Ararat, which we did."
The Roos lead all day but an impressive third quarter, scoring 14 goals to 7 put them in a position to come away, outright winners.
The margin was 10, 50-40 as the final siren sounded.
The Roo's coaches said during the season they had worked on the player's mental strength in preparation for finals.
"We wanted the girls to keep their heads up and keep fighting knowing other teams wanted to win just as much as we did," they said.
"Ararat did that today. They didn't give us the win.
"We are lucky we have such a versatile team it can keep the opposition on their toes as well."
The coaches said going into the game their biggest goal was to get everyone on the court, which they achieved.
"It worked and those fresh legs really helped us at the right times," they said.
"When we make changes we sometimes doubt ourselves but the girls just show us that they are ready for any challenge we give them.
"It was a big mind game for our girls today because Ararat had beaten us in the semi-final."
Dimboola's defender Holly Ross was named best on the court for the day. Ross joined the Roos halfway through the 2019 season.
