The favourite son of the small township just to the east of Ballarat is being remembered as a man who not only put it on the map, but also gave back more than he needed to.
Bungaree Football Netball Club life member Tony Trigg described Frawley as a quintessential Bungaree boy.
"I remember as a junior growing up he would be here, he would come here to training nights and offer advice," he said.
"Before finals, he'd be the first one here of a night, he helped us win finals along the way.
"He always remembered my name, even though I'd only meet him briefly, he'd always come and say g'day. I'm a potato farmer myself, he was just a great bloke and he never forgot where he came from."

The stories from the club are the lesser known of Frawley's life, like when he helped out Jayson Frawley after the premature death of his father.
"I played all my junior footy out here," he said. "I lost my father when I was 14 and mum had the four kids to bring up on her own.
"His late father Brian, and Danny, used to provide me with footy boots when I was a junior. He didn't want to make a big deal about it, but it shows what they were both like.
"I remember he used to be a practical joker, I remember mum had the washing out on the line and when she came out and there were two great big potatoes in her bra on the line, turns out it was Danny - the bugger had jumped the fence and put them in there."
Committee member Darren Rix said he was glad the club had been able to show its appreciation to Danny.
"I'm really glad we got to name the pavilion after him while he was still here in 2013 to remind people of all the things that he did in football and what he's achieved in life," he said.
"He's done a lot for us over the years, coming back to speak at functions and helping out."
