IT'S no secret the Grampians are absolutely stunning, so it should be no surprise that every year they attract hundreds of artists to the Grampians Brushes Workshop Program.

Over 500 artists from across the country will head to Halls Gap for the program across September 7 to 12, where 21 tutors will be teaching a range of mediums, from water colour, pastels, drawing, printmaking and mixed media.
The workshops will cater to everyone, whether they only recently got their start or are showing their work in galleries.

"It is inspiring to see people returning to participate in these workshops each year, and to see their work develop over time," she said.
"We release the program in early February, and by the end of March many workshops are already fulled booked.
"People are enthusiastic to be a part of it."
This year Tasmanian-based artist Deborah Brearley will be in attendance as the artist in residence.
Ms Brearly was one of hte first tutors at Grampians Texture, and then Grampians Brushes and will be based at the Halls Gap Community Hub each day from 9am to 5pm.
She will be running workshops for Halls Gap and Pomonal Primary School students, as well as demonstrating her painting and wook carving skills.
Red Rock Books will also be at the hub with a range of art-related titles, a large range of art supplies from Senior Art Supplies, plus hand-dyed textiles, exotic fabrics and paper, and a range of Japanese products.
Also open to the public will be the mini Twilight Market on Friday September 6.
The market will run from 4pm to 7pm at Centenary Hall.
The market is a chance for shoppers and art enthusiasts to buy works directly from the artists.
"As the reputation of Grampians Brushes has grown among art enthusiasts, one of the really nice things that's now happening is that we are seeing a lot more day visitors taking the opportunity to visit Halls Gap, whilst Grampians Brushes is on," Ms Matthews said.
