Trying to take the shine off herself, the forever team player said she felt the milestone wasn't a really big deal - despite all those around her telling her so.
"Don't get me wrong, I am honoured to be fortunate enough to play all those games," she said.
"But I guess it's the case of I didn't and don't know any different.
"Both my parents played at the club and for me, I just love the thought of getting out onto the court and doing my bit for the team."
Growing up around the club, Cross can never remember a time when she didn't have a netball in her hand.
"I played netball because all my friends did but I remember when I was younger my cousin and I would always be running around with a ball," she said.
"I played some senior games when I was a junior so the transition into senior netball at that time wasn't a massive step - it was a smooth transition.
"I played my first senior year in B Grade then moved into A Grade. Playing A Grade was a big step up."
Playing the sport for more than 23 years, Cross said she was very lucky she hadn't had many injuries.
"I've probably had half a season off in total through various injuries over my career," she said.
"I did have some time off as well when I had my two boys - but only the minimum.
"I remember being asked if I was going back after kids. I remember thinking, why not? There's nothing wrong with me. Of course I was always going to come back and play."
Family connections are strong within the club, with Cross' sister playing and coaching the B Grade team this year.
"It's pretty special to be able to do something you love with your sister by your side," she said.
"I often watch her play - we play in the same position. I try not to critique her game too much, not that she would listen anyway."
A natural teacher, Cross has had success when coaching teams.
"I love coaching. I love watching the players develop and grow, both on and off the court," she said.
"I co-coached the under-17s a few years ago and we were runners up that season.
"It was a fantastic year. Both Liza Cook and I won the league coach of the year award which was a real highlight and topped off the successful season."
In 2019, Cross is co-coach of the under-15 team with Lisa Fleming.
"We're currently sitting second at the moment," she said.
"They're travelling along very well and I hope we can go one better than I did a few years ago."
