It was a sight for sore Ararat Eagles eyes on Saturday, recording their first football win of the season.
The Eagles reserves side saluted for the first time this year, holding on to beat Hawkesdale-Macarthur 6.9 (45) to 5.11 (41).
The Eagles trailed at three-quarter-time, but rallied with one goal in the last term to secure a sweet victory.
It is the first win of the season for either Ararat senior or reserves teams.
"It is a great thing for those guys. It can be hard turning up every week with some lopsided scores but days like Saturday make it worth it," Ararat Eagles president Nats McRoberts said.
"We will enjoy it but not get too carried away."
The senior side was bested by 102 points later in the day, but it would be considered a positive result after the club forfeited its last senior match.
