Two Bendigo people were arrested following a short foot pursuit in St Arnaud earlier this week.

St Arnaud police were investigating a spate of thefts from shops in St Arnaud from Tuesday when they were alerted to two persons of interest on Wednesday morning.
"Two people were sited on Napier Street. Our staff wen to talk to them and after a short foot pursuit were arrested," Sergeant Bill Alford said.
"A 21-year-old female and 26-year-old-male, both from Bendigo, were conveyed to the station for inquiries.
"They were found to be in possession of cannabis, stolen clothing worth more than $250 and stolen bolt cutters worth about $60."
The 21-year-old woman was charged for shop stealing an bailed.
The man appeared at the Horsham Magistrates Court on Wednesday and was remanded in custody to appear again at a later date.
Sergeant Alford said the man was facing theft charges as well as several others.
"When in custody at St Arnaud station he punched a hole in a wall and was charged with criminal damage," he said.
"He was also in possession of a knife and wanted on three warrants by Bendigo Police."
