Police say two cars are write-offs after a crash on the Western Highway on Tuesday morning.
A first car hit a kangaroo on the highway travelling towards Ararat, forcing a second car to slow down behind it. A third car failed to slow down, rear-ending the second car.
The drivers were being assessed on site with no serious injuries. Police were interviewing the driver of the third car.
The highway will not be closed.
UPDATE 11.30am
Traffic has been slowed but the Western Highway remains open after an incident on Thursday morning.
Two ambulances vehicles as well as police and CFA were at the scene.
Police were managing traffic but had not placed any roadblocks.

EMERGENCY services are on scene at the site of a traffic collision on the Western Highway near Buangor.
The accident occurred about 10.30am close to the Langi Ghiran Rest Area.
The Vic Emergency website states that a small fire has also broken out, but this is yet to be confirmed with emergency services.
