Making the most of the opportunity on the public holiday, the gym class is aimed for children under five but welcomed primary school aged children to join in the fun.
New equipment was on display, funded for the club via a Northern Grampians Shire Council grant.
The gym was open for two hours where about 30 children gained a taste of gymnastics.
Kindergym coach Jill Cameron said the program is a great way for children to develop cognitive and motor skills.
"It's play based and parents are able to assist their children through each stage at their own pace," she said.
"Kindergym is also a great way for children to develop those social skills needed before kinder and school. Children love the opportunity to be on real gymnastics equipment like the beams and the bars."
Kindergym is held every Monday from 10am-12pm at the Stawell Gymnastics Club.
