The Governor was accompanied by the Northern Grampians Shire Mayor Kevin Erwin, his wife Julie and the Northern Grampians Shire Council CEO Michael Bailey.
St Patrick's School Advisory Council chair Simon Jones was also part of the tour.
Last year, St Patrick's Foundation class planted sunflower seeds from the Governor's garden which were nurtured by the Sustainability Group. The sunflowers, currently in bloom, were a highlight of the tour.
The Foundation class also presented replicas of Vincent Van Gogh's famous Sunflowers paintings which adorned the school.
The Governor and Mr Howard joined an enthusiastic session of the School Parliament.
The Honourable Ms Dessau was presented with a framed picture of St Patrick's Primary Foundation's 'Sunflowers' masterpiece.
