The two sides were even at the end of the first term, but the Warrack Eagles took the game away with impressive ball movement around the goal ring leading to 22 goals in the second half.

Warrack Eagles co-coach Jane Richardson said she was pleased with her team's performance.

"Definitely happy with the result. We thought we would be up against it all day because their defenders are quite tall and springy and young," she said.

"We thought we did a good job and it's nice to get a few wins under the belt now and get a bit of confidence."

Briodi McKenzie collected 21 goals and was supported well by Sarah Spicer, with 19, but it was the collective performance that carried the Warrack Eagles to victory.

"I'm very happy with how they all played. They were wonderful when we didn't have the ball in hand, everyone became a defender and put some pressure on," Richardson said.

"Also we thought we worked pretty hard in attack as well and just worked well as a team."

Minyip-Murtoa's secured an emotional two-goal victory against the Southern Mallee Giants, after losing returning captain Jess Elder to injury early in the first quarter.

Elder suffered an Achille's injury in what was her only third game back from a seperate Achillie's injury she sustained in late 2017.

Minyip-Murtoa coach Billie Bibby praised the response of her team.

"I couldn't have asked the girls to play any better. We were able to come together as a team, and I suppose grab the win for Jessie," Bibby said.

The two sides couldn't be separated in the opening stages of the match, with the scores level at the end of the first quarter and also at half-time.

Alex Lang was named the Burras' best after her work at the back end of the court helped her side secure a special 44-42 win.

"There was a lot more emotion behind the game, and I couldn't be more proud of the girls. They did an amazing job," Bibby said.

Ararat, meanwhile, continued their unbeaten start to the season with a come-from-behind win against the Horsham Saints.

The Rats trailed the reigning premiers by two points at half-time but recovered to secure a 45-52 victory.

Horsham claimed their second consecutive win, defeating Stawell 81-25.

Emma Buwalda collected an impressive 61 goals, on what was a good night for the Demons.
