The final score was 53 goals to 46.
Blustery conditions and the constant threat of rain forced both sides to adjust their game but Rats coach Taylor Mason said they managed to push through.
"We got there, we kept pushing," she said.
"We built on all our quarter breaks which was really good.
"That's where we struggled against Warrack in round one - we weren't building on those margins at the quarter time and half time breaks but I gave the girls instructions and every quarter they went out and they did that, so that was really good to see."
The side was up by two goals at quarter time.
"Obviously that's not a huge margin, so it's very easy to fall back and go behind by half time," Mason said.
"We built on that and were up by six at half time, then up by 11 at three quarter."
They fell back a little bit in the fourth quarter, resulting in their seven goal lead.
"We were running out of legs - it was a very rough physical game," Mason said.
"The sprinkly rain doesn't help. We were just saying rain or don't rain but I think we adjusted our game really well.
"We changed from our big long passes to our short sharp passes."
While the Rats didn't sustain any injuries, the Roos did.
Player Abbey Greig injured her ankle in the last quarter and could be seen on crutches post-game.
"You never like to see your opponents doing injuries," Mason said.
"That's disappointing for her but hopefully it's not too bad and she can get back on the court."
B and C Grade also won, but the Under-17s and Under-15s did not.
