Fosters Mensland fought back to win the closing games to get up by one, despite Ross McGregor and Tom Guthrie dominating the first set, 6-2. There were long rallies and strong net play.
Aiden Lee played very well in his first match to lead his team to a seven-game win. Mark Stevens came in at short notice to perform well at number three. First National is off to a good start.
Blizzards and the Medical Centre had a tight match with the Medicos winning by two games. John Hannett and Rob Weppner began well for Blizzards with a 9-3, but Stan Payne and Adam Flemming responded immediately. A tight match all night.
Signtek won three sets, while the other three were drawn. Greg McInnes and Geoff White had a good battle, while Mel Roberts again played well. Next week, the big clash is between the unbeaten First National and Fosters Mensland.
