Country Fire Authority crews and Police were called to a house fire just before 11pm Friday, at Campbell Street, Ararat.
Ararat, Stawell, Great Western and Ballarat units attended the call.
Police said they are investigating the house fire.
"Investigators have been told a house on Campbell Street caught fire about 11.00pm," a spokesperson said.
"A 28-year-old Ararat man and a 25-year-old woman escaped uninjured from the house.
"The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and an investigation is ongoing."
