THIS year's Ararat Good Friday Appeal was an enormous success, with a total of $43,691 raised for the Royal Children's Hospital.

Volunteer numbers were huge, with 142 people coming together on the day to assist with coordination and the collection of funds.
The effort was coordinated by the Ararat Fire Brigade, which was also celebrating its 50th year of fundraising.
Volunteers and children who walked the streets shaking tins on Good Friday raised $9267.
Volunteers collecting at both High Street and Barkly Street traffic lights on Thursday and Good Friday raised $7661.
Patrons at the Ararat Hotel raised a record breaking $10,724.
Coordinator Graeme Cooper said the Acacia Caravan Park raised $1002.
"(This) is the highest amount ever raised by a business around our district," he said.
"Debs diner was the second highest, raising $326.10.
"It was a great effort by the Ararat Woolworths Supermarket raising $3335."
