The decision was announced to club members in an e-mail sent last night by club president Leo Delahunty.
It was advised that Riley would leave his position, effective April 23, to relocate closer to family.
Riley, a professional golfer, moved from Hong Kong for the role in June last year.
Riley said he left on positive terms.
"It's all good, all positive, it was my choice. It basically came down to my family," he said.
"Horsham has been great to us, the people have been incredible. It's just 13 hours to Sydney and if we fly it's nine. We just want to get close to one of our families."
Riley's family is based in Sydney, and his wife's family live in her native Hong Kong.

Riley said he loved his time with the Horsham Golf Club.
"The members, the board, everyone has been incredible. It's been fantastic," he said.
"You don't get to say you left the club on better terms. But, with the sponsors doubling and the membership growing it's been fantastic to watch it develop."
The club had to improve its financial position after years of growing debt and last year called on the community for $300,000 to avoid going into administration.
Horsham Golf Club president Leo Delahunty said the departing manager had been integral to the club's advancement.
"Paul's got a young family and he's just trying to work out what's best for them," he said.
"We've seen a huge increase in community support and golf activity over the summer and Paul was a big part of that. I would say it's been a team effort , but Paul has been an integral part of all of our success."
Riley was grateful for the support from the Horsham community in his time here.
"On behalf of the Riley family, to the whole of Horsham, we've been really well accepted. My wife's been incredibly well supported with all the mother groups," he said.
"We really enjoyed our time here; we're just missing our family."
