The Bureau of Meteorology recorded just 0.6 millimetres of rain in Stawell on Sunday, but some areas around Concongella experienced flash flooding with the rain dumped in a short period of time.
Ararat and Stawell State Emergency Services were kept busy, with multiple callouts for fallen trees.
"We had one on Sunday night and another early on Monday morning, one was on Navarre Road and the other on Landsborough Road near Elmhurst," Stawell SES duty officer Jenny Rooke said.
"Winds were quite strong so there was a fair bit of debris to tidy up as well.
"We were also called to some trees down on Silverband and Grampians Road in Halls Gap on Saturday afternoon."
Ararat SES also responded to three tree down incidents on Sunday, a quiet night compared to the last time wild weather hit the region - with many businesses flooded and buildings damaged.
"Safe to say we got out of it lightly with the weather that was with us," Ararat SES controller Gavin Kelly said.
"There are still some strong winds and rain around though so we will keep an eye out."
