On-baller Ella Wood came off holding her wrist late in the forth quarter of their 37-point loss to the Dandonong Stingrays at Mars Stadium.
GWV Rebels coach Rhys Cahir said the injury is concerning going forward.
"(Wood) has had a few concerns with her thumbs so she'll just need some good recovery and she'll come good," he said.
Wood has been named among the best in two of the Rebels three games this season and is a key member of the team's midfield and leadership group.
After Saturday's loss, the Rebels sit in ninth on the NAB Leauge girls competition, while Geelong remains unbeaten on top of the ladder.
The GWV Rebels next game will be against the Geelong Falcons on Saturday, 30 March at City Oval at 2.30pm.
