Ararat Eagles has announced a new president after a committee meeting on Saturday.
Former president Nats McRoberts has stepped back into the role after a break from the leadership position.
Mr McRoberts said after attending the crisis meeting on Tuesday night, he along with others felt compelled to help the club.
"With the number of people in the room and attended, I felt I owed them something," he said.
"We are working closely with the Miniera board and doing everything in our power to keep the wheels in motion."
The Eagles have scheduled training on Monday night.
"We will be discussing with the players what our intentions are and the importance of what we are doing," he said.
"We are going to talk to some prospective players on Tuesday.
"Then on Wednesday, we will host a general meeting for the whole club at 7pm."
McRoberts said the aim, moving forward is to be as transparent as the club can be.
"We've all agreed to be transparent and show we are active and still trying," he said.
"It's taken a big effort by a small group of people and a lot of work is being done behind the scenes.
"We've had some positive feedback coming in, people outside the club putting their hand up to support in different ways - no one wants to see another club go down."
