Artists Bev Isaac and Peter Voice have been busy painting the back wall of the Monaghan's Real Estate building since December, providing an interesting contrast with what the street looks like now compared to what it was more than 100 years ago.
"It has taken more than 100 hours of work and we plan to finish it by Easter," Mr Voice said.
"We were commissioned by Terry Monaghan to give some life to an otherwise blank and dull wall."
The mural is able to be viewed in a similar view to where a photo was taken which the artists have based the painting on.
The artists are about 75 per cent through the piece now, with the finishing touches still to come.
"There is still a fair bit to do but it is already taking some good shape," Mr Voice said.
Mr Voice said the contrast between today's Main Street and the one being portrayed in the mural is interesting.
"There are several buildings that don't exist anymore and Patrick Street is a lot wider than what it was in those days from what we can see," he said.
"It has been helpful that some of the buildings still exist today."

It is the fourth mural the pair have done in the town, with plans already underway on a fifth.
"We have another one planned but we will keep that under our hat for the time being," Mr Voice said.
"We have started our own mini art trail."
The other murals exist at Lillies and Lattes, Chalk Circle and beside the Patrick Street Op Shop.
