We are getting numbers from around 30 to 33 players each session, which has been really good.
- Taylor Mason
Taylor Mason has moved from Navarre in the Maryborough Castlemaine Football Netball League to take up the A Grade coaching role at the Rats, in order to be closer to family and friends.
She said there had been a good turnout throughout the sessions.
“We began tryouts for our A Grade, B Grade and C Grade netball teams Thursday last week and we had one on Monday and our third and final tryouts are this coming Thursday,” she said. “We are getting numbers from around 30 to 33 players each session, which has been really good.”
Mason said she was aiming to add some versatility to her list.
The squad will then be cut down to formulate a list of nine players.
Mason said the hardest part about the tryouts process was cutting down the squads.
“So you are taking it down to the nitty-gritty between each player. Everyone has things that are valuable to a team, so it’s hard to differentiate between all of that.”
