Advocate: A person who can support or represent you in dealing with others.
Aged Care Assessment Service: Teams who conduct comprehensive assessments of older people who have complex aged care needs. Contact 1800 200 422.
Carer Allowance: A fortnightly payment for carers administered by the Department of Human Services which may be paid in addition to other payments.

Flexible Care: An alternative to traditional community and residential care.
HACC Program for Younger People: Offers a range of support services that can enable people to live independently at home and remain socially connected to their community. Contact your local Council or Wimmera Health Care Group on 5381 9111.

National Disability Insurance Scheme: Support for Australians with a significant and permanent disability and their families and carers. Phone NDIS on 1800 800 110.

Regional Assessment Services: Responsible for conducting holistic face-to-face assessments of older people seeking entry-level support at home, provided under the Commonwealth Home Support program, as well as linking in to other services that are outside of the aged care system.
