In the first Semi Final Neil Coates competed against Peter Pianta and Peter got off to a great start to be up 9-2 before Neil made his way back to 9-10 down.
Peter then shortened the ends by moving the mat up and strung a number ends to win 25-9.
In the other Semi final Andrew Sharp played Adrian Troeth.
The two players have faced each other in the last few years and have both shared success. Andrew was right on top of his game on this occasion and went through to the final winning 25-10.
In the final it was close for the first 9 ends with the score at 7 all.
Andrew made his move and got his lead out to 15-8 before Peter started to close the gap.
With a lot of single shots being scored, it levelled up at 22 all.
Peter then trailed the Kitty for a two on the next end to take the advantage at 24-22 and it looked like a new champion was about to be crowned.
Andrew kept his cool and won the next end to get to 23-24.
On the last end Andrew was holding two shots with Peter having the last bowl into the head. A measure for second shot saw Andrew get the 2 shots he needed and ran out the winner 25-24.
This is the 14th time Andrew has won the championship in one of the closest finals ever played at the club.
Andrew will now compete in the champion of champion event against the other seven champions from the Grampians bowls division on Sunday 17th of February to be held at the Stawell Bowling club.
