LAKE BELLFIELD
Lake Bellfield offers a grand vista of the northern Grampians mountain range and is the perfect spot to relax under shady trees and have a dip in calm waters. The lake offers sandy beaches for swimmers and easy access into the water, and is the local host spot for keen fishers, kayakers and canoers.
LAKE FYANS
Lake Fyans was recently voted the best swimming destination in the Grampians, so check out the lake’s sandy beach with water safe for all ages. Try boating, fishing and canoeing on the lake, or just splash around.
LAKE WARTOOK
Lake Wartook, only half-an-hour from Halls Gap, is a peaceful and rather secluded lake great for fishing, kayaking and picnicking. A great location to catch a couple of brown trout and redfin. Fishing off the wall section of the lake is permitted providing comfortable bank fishing.
LAKE LONSDALE
Lake Lonsdale is the perfect spot to relax under shady trees and have a dip in the lake’s calm waters. The lake offers sandy beaches for swimmers and easy access into the water from the boat ramp for keen fishers and water sporting enthusiasts. Stay a while at the lake’s camp sites overlooking the lake, white sandy beaches, native flora, plentiful bird life and views across the water to the Grampians.
THE MOORA MOORA RESERVOIR
The Moora Moora Reservoir is the perfect place for an adventurous day trip with friends beside the Grampians National Park. A unique and serene location to go canoeing, picnicking, fishing and bird watching, or just sit back and enjoy views of surrounding mountains.
LAKE BOLAC
Lake Bolac, around six to seven feet deep when full, is a popular boating, fishing and sailing area. Each year in autumn the Lake Bolac Eel Festival celebrates its indigenous culture with aboriginal ceremonies, live music, art exhibitions, markets and more.
GREEN HILL LAKE
Green Hill Lake is situated 2.5 kilometres east of Ararat and is a popular camping stop for travellers with picturesque mountain ranges. The lake offers a range of water activities including swimming, boating, kayaking, water skiing, knee boarding and wake boarding. The facilities around the lake make it a great place to set up camp with the family. There are even hot showers to refresh after a day’s fun and the lake is also well-stocked with trout for those keen to catch a feed for dinner.
