Jakob Salmi will return to the Baggies for next season. Salmi previously played the start of his junior football with Swifts before moving to the Warriors.
He had a standout season in 2018, winning the Wimmera Football League under 17 best and fairest as well as leading the Warriors to the grand final in the same competition.
Salmi also became a regular in Stawell’s senior side, playing 11 games and drawing praise for his efforts in the top level.
Swifts coach Scott Carey said he is “very excited” for Salmi to be back with the Baggies.

“At Stawell he has definitely shown he has the talent to play consistent senior football,” he said.
“I saw him when he was playing under 14s with Swifts and have kept an eye on him as he has gone through the junior ranks, watching him become one of the best juniors in the district.”
Salmi will reunite with brother Zach at the Baggies. Zach, a premiership player with Swifts, returned to the club midway through 2018 after spending time playing American football at college in the United States.
Carey said Salmi will fit in nicely with the side.
“For his age he has a really solid frame and will be a great inclusion into our midfield,” he said.
“He will be tough to match up on I think.”
