Wickliffe-Lake Bolac won the Mininera & District Football League grand final over Tatyoon, defeating them 118-28 last season.
Assistant coach Chris Keilar said that the club is ready to have that tag on them this season, with training already underway and player commitment evident.
“It has been pretty good so far,” he said.
“We have only trained once a week as we have a lot of players that travel from Ballarat, and a few from Warrnambool.
“The numbers have been good and they have shown good commitment and they have got themselves fit already.”
Keilar said that at this stage of the season it is just about the team spirit and setting up a tighter bond in the playing group.
“If we get the same commitment like we did last year then we can really work the way we want to play our footy,” he said.
