No fires can be lit in the open air in the region between one minute past midnight and 11.59pm on December 1.
The Country Fire Authority has advised residents that the fire danger rating for the Wimmera and Mallee was severe.
People living in areas at risk of fire are advised to activate their bush fire plan.
The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast a mostly sunny day with daytime temperatures reaching the low 30 degrees. There will be a chance of showers and a thunderstorm in the evening.
There will be light winds becoming north to northeasterly at 15 to 20 kilometres an hour in the morning then tending north to northwesterly at 25 to 40 kilometres an hour in the middle of the day.
