On Friday it was announced the party would remove camping fees at 500 basic sites over 70 campgrounds in 19 parks across regional Victoria.
They also announced fees at state and national parks would also be cut in half.
That results in a $15 per night cost reduction at sites in the Grampians.
“Nothing beats a camping holiday – and we’re making it cheaper and easier for families to enjoy the best western Victoria has to offer,” western Victoria MP Jaala Pulford said.
More than $100 million would be invested for more camping grounds, better four-wheel-drive-tracks and new walking trails.
That includes rejuvenation of four-wheel-drive-tracks including Grampians Drive and upgrades for Mount Cole.
“Whether it’s better 4WD tracks or cheaper camping in the Grampians – only Labor will encourage even more Victorians to hit the road and experience the great outdoors,” Labor’s Ripon candidate Sarah De Santis said.
30 existing campgrounds would be upgraded and 30 built from scratch should the government be re-elected.
