The Shopping Spree was last held six years ago but this year the Eastern Grampians Health Services Residents’ Support Group is organising the event, which will see 16 businesses participating.
The businesses will open their doors after hours and offer bargains and exciting finds exclusive to registered participants.
The event will help raise funds for residents at 70 Lowe Street and Garden View Court.
Teams of 10 can register or smaller groups can join a team and head into Gilbert and Jury, 128 Barkly Street Ararat, to purchase a $20 passport, which unlocks the bargains and allows passport holders to pre-shop in the week prior to the Shopping Spree.
“Most businesses are offering at least a 20 per cent discount on the night,” Residents’ Support Group president Marlene Goudie said.
“You must purchase a passport now and you can pre-shop in the week prior to the Shopping Spree, but you can’t pay for or pick up your goods until the night.
“We also want our teams to dress up on the night in their team colors and all businesses will offer refreshments, with the Rotary coffee van open as part of the circuit as well – shopping is thirsty work.”
Ms Goudie said the event will be a fun night out with friends as well as a chance to get the Christmas shopping done early.
The Shopping Spree will start from 6pm and the pre-selection period runs from Friday November 23.
