Frank Elesits, 38, appeared at Horsham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday afternoon.
He was charged with 10 charges and made no bail application, wishing to be further remanded.
He will appear at Stawell Magistrates’ Court on December 18. Elesits did not have legal counsel.
Magistrate Mark Stratmann asked whether the accused was taking any medication, to which the accused yelled; “Which University did you go to?”.
UPDATE 10.50am, November 7
A man, 38, has been arrested following an alleged theft and assault in Stawell on Tuesday morning.
It is alleged a man entered the Main Street store about 9.20am before stealing some items and assaulting an employee.
The 38-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested on Tuesday night.
He was charged with theft, threats, assault-related and driving-related offences and has been remanded in custody to appear at Horsham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

A man is on the run from police following two incidents in Stawell on Tuesday morning.
At about 9.15am a man aged in his 30s entered the milk bar on 3 Main Street, Stawell demanding cigarettes.
”There has been an altercation between him and the shopkeeper where the shopkeeper has sustained some injuries on his forearms from the keys that were in the offender’s hands,” Acting Sergeant Sam McCaskill said.
“Then he has decamped down the road and into a vehicle and left the scene.”
The shopkeeper and his wife were in the store at the time of the incident. Both of them are believed to be in a fine condition.
He was driving a white vehicle and left the Milk Bar empty handed.
Earlier in the morning the man had also been involved in a robbery at IGA on Main Street.
“Prior to that (Milk Bar incident) he had been to IGA and stolen cigarettes, but threw them on the ground after leaving,” Acting Sergeant McCaskill said.
“He was also involved in a pursuit last week with police in a vehicle matching that description. We know who he is so we will process the scene and catch up with him in due course.”
The man is agedin his 30s, is a large build with a dark beard and was wearing black a t-shirt, a baseball cap, thongs and shorts at the time of the incident.
